Corrections

What we got wrong, what changed and when.

A read is sealed with a hash when it is posted, so it isn't changed afterwards. If one turns out to be wrong, the correction goes up as a new post, the original stays, and the correction is listed here. The entries below are every correction we know of, including the times we didn't follow that rule.

1 November 2026: the Sunday map for Monday 2 November, edited after posting

What was wrong. A data vendor's 5-minute bar for 30 October opened at the previous day's close. That made the prior session's high wrong on NQ and on ES, and the overhead levels worked out from those highs.

What we did. The map went up at 12:33 ET. At about 13:45 ET, before the futures reopened at 18:00 ET, we corrected those levels in the post itself and added its two charts. The other levels did not change. The post still shows 12:33 ET.

What that means. We edited a posted read in place, which is not what we say we do. Morning maps were not sealed until 3 November, so the ledger can't show what the post said before the edit. The map builder now repairs such bars when it loads them.

2 November 2026: two test entries in the ledger, removed

What was wrong. At 19:02 ET a software test wrote two entries with made-up prices into the chain for The Open and The Map, as entries 7 and 8. Neither had a post.

What we did. At 19:18 ET we deleted both and set the chain back to entry 6. No anchor and no real entry had included them, and the site was still private. The 2 November anchor names entry 6 as the head. The tests can no longer reach the live chain.

What that means. The numbers 7 and 8 now belong to the real entries of 3 November. This is the one time an entry has been removed from a chain. Once an anchor covers an entry, removing it would break that anchor where anyone could see.

30 October 2026: the backtest's running total

What was wrong. The running total behind the hypothetical backtest left out The Open's and The Close's trades that closed on shortened holiday sessions.

What we did. We added them and revised the backtest figures on the homepage, the Record page, two notes and one lesson. The worst drawdown, the share of positive months and the count of positive years did not change. The backtest and its statement are on the Record page.
