How to cancel
You can cancel your paid membership online, any time. You do not need to email us or call us. These steps are for The daily read.
Cancel online, any time
- Sign in. Choose Sign in at the top of any page, enter the email address you joined with, and open the link we email you.
- Choose Account at the top of any page.
- Next to your plan, choose Change.
- At the bottom, choose Cancel subscription.
- Choose Confirm cancellation. You can tell us why you are leaving, but you do not have to.
Want a shortcut? Go straight to your plan. If you are not signed in, you will be asked to sign in first. Then follow steps 4 and 5.
The "Billing info & receipts" section of your account is for updating your card and seeing receipts. You cannot cancel there.
What happens next
- Your plan stays active until the end of the period you have paid for. Your account shows the date.
- We do not charge you again.
- Your account shows "Canceled" next to your plan.
- When the paid period ends, your account stays open as a free account.
Canceling does not delete your account. To delete it, see our privacy policy. Unsubscribing from emails does not cancel your membership either. Only the steps above do.
If you change your mind
Before your paid period ends, sign in and choose Account. A banner says that your subscription has been canceled and shows the date it ends. Choose Resume subscription. Your plan carries on and renews on the usual date.
If your paid period has already ended, choose Get the daily read at the top of any page and subscribe again. You will pay the price shown at checkout.
Refunds
We do not give refunds after you buy, except where the law requires one. This applies to monthly and yearly plans and to renewals. If you cancel, you keep access until the end of the period you have paid for, and we do not charge you again.
If you cannot cancel online
Email help@readtheopen.com from the address on your account and say that you want to cancel. We will cancel it and confirm by email. This is slower than canceling online, because a person has to read your message. If your renewal date is close, cancel online.
