Backtest archive: The Open, The Close and The Map

Hypothetical results. These trades were never executed.

These results are based on simulated or hypothetical performance results that have certain inherent limitations. Unlike the results shown in an actual performance record, these results do not represent actual trading. Also, because these trades have not actually been executed, these results may have under-or over-compensated for the impact, if any, of certain market factors, such as lack of liquidity. Simulated or hypothetical trading programs in general are also subject to the fact that they are designed with the benefit of hindsight. No representation is being made that any account will or is likely to achieve profits or losses similar to these being shown.

How these numbers were made. The three rules as taught in their courses, simulated on Nasdaq-100 futures from 2019-06-03 to 2026-10-23. The Open and The Close are sized at one NQ contract each, with 2 ticks of slippage and $2.50 commission on each side. The Map is sized at a fixed $3,750 of risk a trade. Daily read members see every trade, in one table, below.

The Map’s rows cover November 2023 to October 2026, the period its settings were tuned on. On earlier data it was not tuned on (2021 to 2023) it came out about break-even.
